Career Opportunity: Pipefitters/Pipewelders

Stinson’s Industrial is currently seeking to fill an immediate job opening for Pipefitters/Pipewelders.

Hours:

This is a full-time salaried position.  This position may occasionally require long hours, nights, and weekends.

Day to day tasks and responsibilities may include:

Installation & Layout

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications.

• Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe to exact specifications.

• Assembling piping systems for heating, cooling, steam, water, chemicals, or gas.

• Installing supports, hangers, valves, and fittings.

System Work

• Connecting pipes to pumps, boilers, tanks, compressors, or processing equipment.

• Testing systems for leaks using pressure gauges or hydrostatic/air tests.

• Modifying existing piping systems during plant expansions or upgrades.

Tools & Skills

• Using power tools (threaders, pipe benders, saws) and precision instruments.

• Rigging and hoisting heavy pipe sections into position.

Welding & Fabrication

• Joining pipes using SMAW (stick), GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), or flux-core welding.

• Welding in various positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead, 6G) depending on the job.

• Preparing pipe ends by beveling, grinding, or cleaning for strong weld joints.

Quality & Safety

• Performing X-ray quality welds where high integrity is required (nuclear, oil & gas, chemical plants).

• Following welding codes and standards (ASME, AWS, API).

• Repairing cracks, leaks, and weak welds in existing systems.
