Career Opportunity: Machinist

Stinson’s Industrial is currently seeking to fill an immediate job opening for Machinist.

Hours:

This is a full-time salaried position.  This position may occasionally require long hours, nights, and weekends.

Day to day tasks and responsibilities may include:

Precision Machining

• Operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to make or repair parts.

• Running CNC machines (Computer Numerical Control) for high-accuracy, repeatable parts.

• Creating shafts, bushings, gears, pins, bearings, and housings to exact tolerances.

Equipment Repair & Maintenance

• Re-machining worn or damaged parts instead of waiting for costly replacements.

• Restoring tolerances on critical equipment components.

• Making custom replacement parts to reduce downtime.

Fabrication Support

• Producing precision components for millwrights, welders, and fabricators to use in larger assemblies.

• Machining mating surfaces so parts align properly during installation.

• Threading, boring, keyway cutting, and slotting to prepare parts for assembly.

Tool & Fixture Making

• Designing and machining jigs, fixtures, and special tools used by maintenance or production teams.

• Making dies, molds, or specialty cutters when needed.

Measurement & Quality Control

• Using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMMs (coordinate measuring machines) to verify tolerances.

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specs.

• Ensuring all parts meet tight tolerances required for safe machine operation.
